Name: Dori M.
Major: English and Political Science
Dori daringly pairs denim-on-denim with a thrifted throwback 90s skirt and a printed jean jacket she borrowed from her mom’s closet. Her velvet crop top is from Forever 21.
How would you describe your style? I definitely see stuff on tumblr that I like– which I know is pretty standard. But I don’t like to exactly replicate it; I like to have pieces of clothing that no one else is going to have. That’s why I shop at thrift stores and get stuff from my mom.
These platform Birkenstocks are so unique! Dori got them from a boutique called Miss Meers.
What you say your style has been affected by your mom’s clothes? Oh, not at all. She just has a few artifacts that are pretty cute. But my sister is a designer at Pendalton Woolen Mills and she went to school for apparel design so I’m probably most influenced by her.
How would you describe that influence? I think one thing is mainly the ideology that my sister has– which is that you should always dress like you’re going to meet someone important. So I don’t really wear exercise clothes out. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but I just personally don’t.
