Makeup and hair is just as synonymous with festivals as fashion. As I previously reported from the 2015 Sasquatch! Music Festival, one of the coolest things I saw was people taking risks with their satirical choices. This was also true for the makeup and hair looks of the festival.
One of the biggest trends I noticed was facepaint. But this wasn’t the kind you got done at some county fair when you were 10 years old. Simple, thoughtful designs added a whimsical touch to many looks.
Temporary tattoos were also abundant, especially the gilded and glittery ones that have been popular recently.
Colored brows is a daring, but totally doable look. Bonus points if they match your hair. Also, a little glitter and a braided headband is a classic look.
Allover glitter is a surprisingly simple look, and it looks beautiful shining in the midday sun.
This dramatic eye look stood out. It reminded me of the eye makeup rocked by Twenty One Pilots drummer Josh Dun at the festival.
Hair wise, the trend was any color and every color. We loved this girls outfit so much, she also made it in the festival style post.
This braided look is perfect for third day festival hair.
Blue was the color du jour, often mixed with purples and greens to create a textured look.
These two girls rocked different, but complimentary hair colors.
Those looks a bit much for you? A colorful ombre can take it down a notch without losing any of the wow factor.
The ubiquitous flower crown trend was still going strong. But this minimalist version is refreshing.
But bros and ladies alike were rocking the buns, for better or worse.
The couple who buns together stays together.
This half up/half down look is a good compromise.
So what did I learn from all this festival makeup and hair? Experiment, be yourself and a little color is never a bad thing.
